Hello! My name is Ashley Dyer, and welcome to my website! If you're new here, take some time and explore, then let me know your thoughts by taking my survey or contacting me personally. I love all feedback whether it be positive comments, constructive criticism, or even ideas on resources to add to my Human Reform pages.
Anyways, let me tell you some basic [boring] things about me as a person before I talk about my website. I'm 25 years old, live at home, and work a full time job - I know, I'm a total catch. My goal in life right now is to work on my writing and hopefully write a novel in the next couple of years. In April of 2021, I quit my job in retail after 4.5 years to do work that would allow me to have more free time to write as well as the privilege of having a job that feels purposeful. I love to travel and went to England in September of 2019, and I've been lucky enough to travel other places within the United States at least once a year for the past few years (including an annual trip to Florida with my father - we get lit!).

My right brainedness, however, is what led me to create this website. I love to have at least three creative projects flowing (or not flowing depending on the hour) at one time, and I've tried so many different things throughout my short time on this marbled planet, such as knitting, bracelet making, sewing, macraming (is that a word?), writing, vlogging, photography, editing [photos and videos], music, drawing, and probably more that I can't think of right now. Clearly, I love to be creative and try new things, but I have a hard time committing to any one hobby. In 2016, after I graduated high school, I was going to attend an art school in Detroit, MI to major in photography. I moved in, attended freshmen orientation, and lived there for about a week before moving right back out. I got scared. I missed home. But mostly, I wasn't ready to settle on photography for the next four years of my life (and put myself into a deep, deep student debt situation). So, I moved back home and got a job. |
I created this website in 2016 (pre-college) with the intention of making it a portfolio type website for my photography, and it was for a while, even after I left college, but as I evolved creatively, so did my website. In 2018, I created my YouTube channel and started uploading videos as often as I could create them.
It was a lot of fun, but eventually I got tired of trying to film and edit videos consistently so I decided to focus more of my attention on writing. As long as I can remember I've loved to write. I love writing poetry and essays, and I LOVE to come up with novel ideas, but not follow through on writing them (lol oops). I guess we'll see if my dreams ever come true, so stay tuned! Or don't. Actually, it's probably best you don't waste your time and try to keep up my failing goals in life. *insert sobbing emoji-- I mean, the upside down smiley face :/ *

I enjoy using my voice through my socials, my YouTube channel, and my website to empower other people. I want to remind people everyday that what you want in life changes every second that you're alive. Nothing stays the same, and you'll never consistently want the same thing (hence me leaving college). Your plans for your future will evolve, your personal health goals will change, your needs in any relationship you ever have will grow, and you'll constantly want to get better as an individual the more you practice living a healthy life. So with that being said, I hope you find whatever it is your looking for from my website and from life!
I may be young by the number of years I've existed on this planet, but I have been through so much and have learned so much that it's hard to keep it all to myself. I'm going to use my knowledge and the voice I've been blessed with to help others on their journey through life as well as help myself grow and get better. Now, I encourage you to go forth and grab your life (and goals and dreams) by the balls and make shit happen for yourself! |
